A driver has been jailed following a 118mph police pursuit on the M23.

Colin Pollard, 29, of East Grinstead, was sentenced to 14 months in prison and banned from driving for two years at Brighton Crown Court on Friday (February 13).

He was required to take an extended driving test as part of the disqualification.

He pleaded guilty to failing to stop, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and driving uninsured in January.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said a police patrol attempted to stop the Renault Laguna car Pollard was driving in Hazelwick, Crawley, at around 3.45am on Sunday December 7.

Officers drove at 118mph on the M23 to keep up with Pollard before the car was stopped in Balcombe Road, Maidenbower shortly after.
