An easyJet flight to Basel has been diverted back to Gatwick Airport because of a technical fault.

Flight EZY8435 left Gatwick North Terminal at 2.56pm today (Monday July 27).

A spokesman for the airline confirmed the plane, which was scheduled to depart at 2.25pm, had returned to Gatwick.

Its flight tracker website stated: “Our engineers are on standby to meet the aircraft when it arrives back to the boarding gate and we hope to be able resolve the issue shortly. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.”
