A St Wilfrid’s school-leaver thought a text which said she had met her university offer was a prank.

Jessica Green, 18, woke up at around 6.30am to find the University of Surrey’s message congratulating her for making its offer yesterday (August 13).

She said: “I woke up and it was just there.

“I didn’t quite believe it, I thought it was a prank. I didn’t expect them to text me.”

Jessica, of Poplar Close, Langley Green, ran downstairs and woke mum she had been accepted on to her Psychology course.

She said: “She just burst into tears, jumped out of bed and grabbed me.”

Jessica received an email from the university confirming she had got into her course an hour later.

She went to school to receive her A Level grades and cried with joy after she ripped open her results letter.

She got A*s in Psychology and Theatre and a B in Geography and an A* in her Extended Project Qualification on cognitive neuroscience.

She said: “I had felt nervous the whole time and when I got them I just needed to open them and see what I’ve got.

“I hoped to get A* in psychology because that’s what I want to do but I didn’t expect it at all.”

Jessica said she revised nonstop all year.

She started after she visited her university in Guildford in June 2014.

Offering revision tips, she said: “I tried to keep on top of it - as soon as I did something in class I started revising straight away.”

Her older sister Amy, 23, went to St Wilfrid’s School and her younger sister Georgia while get her GCSE results next week.
