Five students from Hazelwick School have been accepted to study at Oxford or Cambridge Universities.

The school, in Three Bridges, reported its highest ever A-level results, with 27 students achieving A* grades at A-level.

We are immensely proud of all our students’ performance. This excellent year group showed great engagement and commitment throughout their time at Hazelwick and they fully deserve their success.

Ann Fearon, principal

School principal, Ann Fearon, said she was “immensely proud” of her students and added: “Hazelwick is delighted to have maintained its strong position in academic subjects at A-level with another set of excellent results.”

Nearly one in four of all A2 grades were A* or A (24 per cent), nearly half of all A2 grades were between A* and B (48 per cent), and 77 per cent of A2 grades were A*-C.

Twenty students achieved three or more straight A*/A grades while the 27 who achieved at least one of the highly demanding grades represented a best-ever result for the school.

Two students achieved three A* grades and one earned four A* grades.

Ms Fearon added; “Five of our top-achieving students have gained places at Oxford or Cambridge University and four have been accepted for Medicine at other Russell Group universities.

“We are immensely proud of all our students’ performance.

“This excellent year group showed great engagement and commitment throughout their time at Hazelwick and they fully deserve their success.”

She continued: “The school is delighted to have helped this year’s Upper Sixth students complete their education at Hazelwick with such fantastic achievements.

“These young adults are our future and they can begin the next chapter of their lives with pride and confidence.”
