Having joined Crawley Town on a two-year contract in the summer, the former Utrecht and Almere City winger has promised fans that he’ll be putting in a shift on the pitch this season.

Boldewijn revealed running is a big part of his game and will be tormenting defences all the time he is on the pitch.

He said: “I am getting fitter every day. We train hard and one of my qualities is to run the whole match and that’s what the trainer wants me to do, so I will do it.

“Now I am here it is better than I imagined. The football is faster and physical and I love it.

“I am very happy to play English football, it’s what I wanted all my life and now I am here, I want to repay that in success.

“I had nine goals and 12 assists last season, but I want to do more this season, so more than ten goals and lots of assists.”

The 23-year-old has already formed a good understanding on the pitch with Jordan Roberts and Jason Banton as an attacking three in behind a lone striker.

And Boldewijn is enjoying the link they have formed, he added: “I am very pleased to be playing with them, they see the game very good. We play from the left to the right side very fast so there is space.

“Jordan is a player who gets the ball to people all the time in the midfield. Then I am wide and he can play the ball to me very fast so it is good.

“We have trained together for two or three weeks now and we get a better team every day.

“I am very happy with my first goal for Crawley, I waited a lot of matches for it and it was the time so I am very pleased.

“It’s one of my qualities, going to the inside and scoring with my left foot, I have scored a lot of goals with my left foot like that.”
