Fashion show to celebrate first birthday of company

Dressmakers and quilters took part in a fashion show to help celebrate the first birthday of the company which taught them to sew.

Sew ‘n’ Beads, based in the craft units in Tilgate Park, was launched by Sukhbeer Dryden and Bernadette Williams.

At the Fashion and Quilt Show on July 6, budding dressmakers and quilters who had been taught by Sukhbeer and Bernadette in adult education courses in Crawley and Horsham strutted their stuff on the catwalk, modelling their own handmade garments.

They were joined by the monkey mascot from the nearby Go Ape tree top adventure area, who modelled his first fashion collection handmade by Sew ‘n’ Beads.

In a statement, Sukhbeer and Bernadette said: “What a wonderful turn out we had. We are grateful to everyone who came to support us on our first anniversary and would like to thank Mark, Go Ape’s manager, Claire and Lyn from Clearabeau, Annie from the Walled Garden Cafe, Jane from The Tilgate Bakery and their staff who helped make the day special. Special thanks to the staff at Tilgate Park.”
