A flight was diverted to Gatwick after a report that a woman had thrown a prosthetic leg and food at cabin crew.

A 48-year-old woman from Edinburgh was arrested at the North Terminal, Gatwick Airport, at 10.22pm on Wednesday (July 30), on suspicion of using threatening behaviour while aboard a flight from Tunisia to Edinburgh.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The flight was diverted into Gatwick after it was alleged the woman had been abusive and had thrown a prosthetic leg and food at cabin crew.

“The woman was interviewed at Crawley police station before being released and advised that she would be reported for summons.”
