A six-year-old boy was taken to hospital in a neck brace after two cars collided.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Rusper Road, Ifield, near the Millbank junction, at around 8.20pm on Friday (February 20).

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said paramedics took four people, who were all fully conscious, to East Surrey Hospital.

The boy suffered from neck pain. He was placed in a neck brace and long board for potential injuries.

Two men were also immobilised. The spokesman said a man in his 20s complained of knee, head and back pain and the 18-year-old, a passenger in one of the vehicles, suffered from back and neck pain.

The fourth person sent to hospital was a woman.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, which sent two fire engines to the scene, said no one was trapped in the cars.
