Public health concerns have been raised over Crawley Turtle Bay’s overflowing bins.

A reader took this photograph of the bins near the entrance to Morrisons car park in Pegler Way on Monday (August 31).

An employee at the Carribbean-themed restaurant in the High Street said there had been problems with opening the gate for bin collections.

The reader said the overflowing waste food was disgusting and attracted rats and other vermin.

He said in an email: “Where the public are shopping for their food I think all areas must be managed efficiently and effectively with a high regard to public and employee health and safety.”

Turtle Bay has yet to comment on the letter and photo.
