Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls said Labour had ‘a real chance’ of taking over Crawley Borough Council during a visit to the town today (Thursday May 1).

The Labour front-bencher was given a guided tour around technology company Avensys in Fleming Way.

He later met with local Labour supporters at Northgate Parade.

Mr Balls said: “I’ve come to Crawley because the Conservative council here is very unpopular and there’s a real chance Labour can take control in a couple of weeks.”
