£3k grant for activities

Learning disabled adults have been awarded a grant of £3,000 to take part in outdoor activities. Fifty people from Crawley and East Grinstead will be able to try out archery, mountain biking, sailing or kayaking through the ‘No Limits’ project. The money is from the West Sussex Learning Disabilities Partnership Board.

It is part of a series of grants worth more than £65,000, including Asperger’s Voice, which aims to improve understanding across West Sussex. The council also awarded £6,000 to Carers Support West Sussex to develop its ‘Time Out for Carers’ workshop programme. Deputy Cabinet Member for Adult Services Graham Tyler said: “These are valuable projects that should help us in creating a more cohesive community.”
