40 cyclists stopped for riding on paths

POLICE stopped and spoke to 40 cyclists during a day of action against riding on the pavement in Three Bridges.

The action follows a number of complaints to police about cyclists using the pavement.

Sergeant Tom Wood, of Crawley neighbourhood policing team, said: “We have been contacted by a number of concerned residents regarding cyclists using the pavement in the Three Bridges area. In response we recently undertook a day of action which saw around 40 cyclists stopped and spoken to.

“The relevant enforcement action was taken where deemed necessary. We have put up a number of posters in the problems areas and as a team we shall continue to work on the issues.”
