The A23 will reopen this afternoon (Tuesday June 24) after a leaking sewer pipe was repaired.
However, a spokesman for Thames Water said one lane of carriageway between the Fleming Way and Lowfield Heath roundabouts would remain closed for a further two to three weeks.
Mark Taylor, Thames Water’s head of programme delivery, said: “We’re really pleased to be finally opening the road.
“This was a big job, but one that absolutely needed to be done.
“We know that this closure was an inconvenience to drivers, residents, and businesses, and we’d like to thank everyone for their patience.”
