A-LEVELS: Record pass rates at town's schools
HUNDREDS of Crawley teens are celebrating a record set of A-Level results.
Schools and colleges across Sussex have announced that their pass rates have reached brand new levels.
Many have already opened their doors this morning to let students find out their A and A/S-level scores.
Students and teachers at St Wilfrid's School are celebrating a 99 per cent overall A-level pass rate. a "fantastic" set of A Level results.
The school's AS Level pass rate is around 90 per cent.
Headteacher Jonathan Morris said: "The fact that these results show such a significant increase on last year's already fantastic results is inspiring."
Thomas Bennett Community College enjoyed an A-level pass rate of 96 per cent.
Shouvick Ghosh, head of sixth form said: "We would like to congratulate all our students on their achievements and wish them good luck in the future."
Students at Hazelwick School romped home with an A-level pass rate of 99.8 per cent.
Fifty-three per cent of students achieved A or B grades with a record breaking eight students achieved three or more A grades.
Nick Hopkins, head of the upper school, said: "We are not only proud of our sixth formers for their academic success, but also immensely grateful for the enormous contribution they have made to the whole life of the school community."
Holy Trinity in Gossops Green celebrated top results with a 99.5 per cent pass rate, with 75 per cent achieving A to C grades.
Head of Sixth Form, Karen Brookes, said: "Once again I have been astounded at the achievements of our Sixth Form.
"They have worked extremely hard to gain fantastic results.
"They have developed brilliantly over the past two years and have been amazing role models for the rest of the school, providing excellent leadership.
"We are extremely proud of them."
Ifield Community College have declined to make their results public.
