Accident on A23 at Hookwood closes road
Two people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle accident on the A23 northbound at Hookwood near Horley.
The carriageway has been closed following the accident, which happened at around 3:45pm today (Tuesday October 23) between Gatwick Way and the Longbridge roundabout.
A woman in her 50s suffering neck pain was taken by ambulance to East Surrey Hospital.
A man in his 30s suffering from back pain was also taken to the Redhill hospital by ambulance.
Three ambulances and paramedics travelling in cars attended the scene.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “Both patients were taken to hospital as a priority because of the nature of the incident. Both were fully conscious and the man in his 30s was able to get out of his vehicle himself.”
Traffic is reported as queuing between the Gatwick Way junction and Longbridge roundabout.
