Air ambulance lands on Crawley school playing field and airlifts man to hospital

A man was airlifted to hospital with injuries to his abdomen following an incident in Crawley.

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance landed in the playing field of Three Bridges Primary School, Gales Drive, at around 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday July 15).

Police and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.

Cllr Brenda Burgess, who lives nearby, said the emergency services teams headed towards Crossways, before returning to the helicopter carrying the man on a stretcher.

The man was flown to St George’s Hospital, in London.
