Airport staff raise £1,700 for charity
A TEAM of British Airways staff have raised more than £1,700 for a children’s cancer charity thanks to an evening of music, fun and a raffle.
The Gatwick-based cabin crew customer service trainers organised the event at the Wingspan Club on Friday (September 14) to raise cash for CLIC Sargent.
The event was organised by Lucy Groenewoud and Claire Pulman to support their colleague Julie Chrzanowska, whose 14-year-old son Matthew is undergoing treatment for leukaemia at Southampton General Hospital.
Lucy said; “Claire and I wanted to show Julie how much she means to everyone at Gatwick, and we are incredibly excited and happy the night was a success and we raised such a fantastic amount for CLIC Sargent.
“We would like to thank everyone who came along, donated, bought raffle tickets and gave up their time to support the event. We are so proud to support Julie and Matthew at this difficult time.”
But the fundraising doesn’t end there. On October 28, Lucy and Claire will be taking part in The Great South Run, in Portsmouth, for the same cause.
