Anti-bullying game rolled out
Primary schools in West Sussex will be the first in the country to try out a new anti-bullying board game.
Schools in Crawley have been invited to purchase the game ‘No more bullying toolbox’ which includes a downloadable board game that schools can print out and use.
The game is designed to get pupils involved and talk about bullying issues from the beginning.
It is aimed at primary school children aged 5 to 11 years old and teaches youngsters the core skills for dealing with bullying issues.
The game was dreamt up by Jo Losack from Sussex based company ‘Anti-Bullying Works’ who support schools and youth organisations on bullying and related issues.
Jo said: “I feel sure that the Toolbox will provide a fresh, new and different way of tackling the issues of bullying at primary school level.
“It not only educates youngsters about what to do, but also provides a framework for them to have open and honest discussions about any current issues they might have, particularly those that they may previously have been reluctant to talk about.”
Paul Rigglesford, founder of Anti-Bullying Works added: ”After dealing with many pupils who missed vital days at school because of bullying incidents, Jo developed this resource to help educate children from an early age, so that they can develop their social skills and cope more easily with any issues that they may come across.”
