Attempted robbery at Crawley fish and chip shop

Police are hunting a man who tried to rob a Crawley fish and chip shop.

The man went into King Fish, Maidenbower Square, Crawley, and threatened the proprietor and demanded money from the till at 9.15pm on Wednesday last week (October 10), police revealed today (October 17).

However, the proprietor shouted and the man ran off empty handed.

The would-be robber was described as white, about 5ft 7in, wearing a black hoody which was up around his face, exposing just his eyes, black jeans, and trainers.

Police said the attempted theft was not reported to police until two days later.

Detective Constable Phil Peadon said; “If you were in the Maidenbower Square area on Wednesday evening 10 October and saw this man, or have any other information, please contact us on 101 quoting serial 1665 of 2/10. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
