A Victorian horror author, who wrote many of his works in Three Bridges, has been honoured with a Blue Plaque celebrating his achievements and his association with the area.

The Mayor of Crawley, Cllr Bob Burgess, was joined by thriller writer, Julia Crouch, to unveil the plaque bearing the name of Richard Marsh (1857-1915), at Sunnyside, New Street, on Friday (April 25). Marsh wrote many supernatural mysteries and thrillers, the most famous of which is The Beetle. The Blue Plaque scheme has been organised by Crawley Arts Council for 15 years.
