Crawley Borough Council is to present 10 of its longest-serving councillors with badges commemorating their time in office.
The Long Service Badges will be presented by mayor Cllr Brenda Smith at a meeting of the full council at the town hall on Wednesday (July 23).
The recipients will be: Cllr Sally Blake (Con, Pound Hill North), for 20 years’ service; Cllr Dr Howard Bloom (Con, Pound Hill South & Worth) for 15 years’ service.
Also being recognised for 15 years’ service will be Cllr Ian Irvine (Lab, Broadfield North).
Cllr Keith Blake (Con, Gossops Green) will be honoured for 10 years’ service alongside Cllr Keith Brockwell (Con, Pound Hill North), Cllr Brenda Burgess (Con, Three Bridges), Cllr Chris Cheshire (Lab, Bewbush), Cllr Lenny Walker (Con, Maidenbower), and former Broadfield South councillor Alan Quirk.
A spokesman said former Pound Hill South councillor Claire Denman would be unable to attend so other arrangements would be made for receipt of her badge for 10 years’ service.
