Boy electrocuted on railway named as Jesse Quincey

The 15-year-old boy who was electrocuted at Horley railway station has been named by police.

Jesse Quincey, from Redhill, was found on the railway tracks on Monday (April 7), according to British Transport Police (BTP).

His family has been informed.

Emergency services were called to reports of a body on the tracks at 8.41pm.

Jesse was believed to have been electrocuted after falling from the platform and coming into contact with the live rail.

The spokesman said: “The incident was reported to BTP at 8.41pm and was also attended by Surrey Fire Service and Surrey Ambulance Service.

“On arrival, officers discovered the body of a male who is believed to have been electrocuted after falling from the platform and coming into contact with the live power rail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.”
