Molly Cass, 9, of Maidenbower, wished to dance with the creator of Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley, win an international dancing competition and to have a new kidney.

Michael Flatley granted her first wish last year and Molly cried as her second came true when she was crowned European Irish Dance Champion.

She hopes all three will come true after her father David Cass finishes a screening process which would let him donate a kidney to her. She said: “I look forward to it because then I won’t have to do dialysis.”

Her mum Suzanne said Molly undergoes at least three five-hour dialysis sessions per week but never complains about her condition, diffuse mesangial sclerosis.

Michael Flatley invited her to join the Lord of the Dance Troupe and dance with him at his show at the Dominion Theatre in London. Molly appeared with him on ITV This Morning show to promote the shows and organ donation.

She practised for ten hours per week at the Ace Academy of Irish Dance in Broadfield ahead of the dance competition.

Suzanne said she and David didn’t expect Molly would be well enough to win after she underwent two six-hour operations to have her kidneys removed in February and March.

The winners were announced in reverse order. Molly, who goes to Turners Hill School, said she reached the top two places and said: “The other person’s number was 21 and I was 20 - they said 20 ... I thought it was me and then they said one after that and I knew I won, I cried.

“I was really really happy.”

Suzanne added: “The Ace parents around me were all crying and celebrating saying, ‘she’s won’ ‘she’s done it!’ and I turned to check with my husband Dave, but he had already run off down the stairs towards the stage in tears!”
