Crawley will be showing its support of Armed Forces Day by hosting a special event.
There will be displays and demonstrations from armed forces cadets, serving troops and veterans in Queens Square on Saturday (June 28) from 10am-12.30pm.
Cllr Chris Oxlade, Cabinet member for community engagement at Crawley Borough Council, said: “We’re approaching the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One, so it’s even more poignant we remember the sacrifices that have been made and are still being made.
“I encourage members of our local community to join us in Queens Square on Saturday to show their support and enjoy the entertainment.”
Refreshments, courtesy of Sainsbury’s Crawley, will be available for sale and all money raised will be donated to service charities.
Other activities planned for the day include a climbing wall, obstacle course and camouflage face painting.
