A group of women affected by cancer are daring to bare by posing for a Calender Girls-style photoshoot.

Sales from the calender will go towards Cancer Research UK while raising awareness about cervical and ovarian cancer.

The shoot was organised by cervical cancer survivor and mother-of-two Danielle Thompson, 26, of Northgate, who has now been given the all-clear.

She said: “It doesn’t make you feel like a woman anymore, it was a very hard time. I had laser treatment and a coloscopy but I’m now in remission.”

Angela Green, 51, of Gossops Green; Jenny Helmoore, 30, of East Grinstead; Abbey Mccreadie, 21, of Handcross; Harriet Bevis, 24, of Southgate; Shanna Martin, 28, of Broadfield; Sascha Read, 24, of Southgate; and Kirsty Scott, 25, of Northgate were photographed at the weekend.

Meanwhile Leanne Kenvin, 27, of Langley green; Sharon Smith, 41, of Langley green; Caroline Rose, 24, of Brighton; Emily James, 24, of Broadfield; and Kelly-Anne Garman, 32, of Northgate will also pose for the calender.

Danielle said: “Cervical cancer can affect every woman. Our families and friends support us through the down times, the joys and the sad times but with your help and donations we can raise awareness as well as funds.”

The calender will be available to buy for £8 in December and was shot by Crawley photographer Kevin Bourne.
