Charity worker to cycle 12-hours for new interative equipment

A STAFF member at Outreach 3Way will cycle 12-hours to raise money for a new piece of interactive equipment.

Neil Holmes, 23, of Dovedale Cresent, Southgate, works for the learning disability charity based in Ifield and will take up the challenge on June 25.

He hopes to raise £1,000 towards an interactive projection system which responds to any movement over the floor surface.

Neil said: “The piece of equipment is £10,000. We have raised around £4,000 already through other various fundraising events but we still have a long way to go.

“I have been working at the charity for two years now and thought why don’t I ride a bike for 12 hours at the K2?

“I’m not a massive cycling person but last year I did an eight hour bike ride on the road which was fun – but I think it will be more challenging on a static bike in one place.”

Neil said the equipment would be used for relaxation and sensory sessions and “would make a real difference”.
