Charity steps up to help after thieves strike at school
A CHARITY has stepped in to replace a specially adapted trolley after it was stolen from a school.
Ifield Chestnut House donated £600 to St Margaret’s Church of England Primary School after hearing how thieves stole a gardening trolley used by disabled children and lead from the school roof twice.
Cheryl Thompson-Balk, premises officer at St Margaret’s said: “We are very grateful to Ifield Chestnut House for this generous donation and it is so lovely the charity are supporting children locally.
“As a school we were so happy to see the children exploring different ways of learning and being able to garden once more.”
The school runs an after school gardening club once a week.
The charity also provided the Special Support Centre with a huge wheelbarrow and £500 towards ICT equipment.
Gary Morris from Ifield Chestnut House said: “I think it’s disgraceful people nicked their trolley. We’re just lucky we are in a position where we can help them out and I’m pleased we can.
“I’m really proud of what we are doing as a charity and it’s great to see the kids really enjoy the equipment.”
