The achievements of students at Thomas Bennett Community College were recognised at a Celebration Evening attended by the Mayor of Crawley, Cllr Keith Blake.

Some 120 students attended the event and some took part in performances of dance, music and the dramatisation of poetry they had written. The college’s Pauline Findlay said: “In the past few years we have worked hard at developing a strong success culture and we know that the time and effort put into recognising and sharing success is imperative to raising the students’ aspirations and self esteem even higher.” Headteacher Yasmin Maskatiya and deputy head Julian Grant presented science awards to Mustafa Ganchi, of Broadfield, Aurella Georges, of Broadfield, Alexander Oldfield, of Bewbush, Jade Williams, of Southgate, and Liam Wootten, of Broadfield.
