The Ratha Yatra originates in India thousands of years ago and is still celebrated in all major cities in the world. The procession of singers, dancers and the chariot, will start at midday near the Memorial Gardens.

Organiser Ajay Parekh said: “It’s a very fun filled and colourful event and everyone is invited to come along and pull the cart. At the end of the procession a free vegetarian feast is served to all in the town centre. There will also be stalls around that give guidance on yoga and meditation.”

This year the event will be followed by a meditation session plus dessert at the Bhakti Toga Centre in Spindle Way, Crawley at 4pm.
