A former teacher from Broadfield has been leading a celebrity life after touring with comedian Sean Walsh and appearing alongside stars on TV.
Father-of-two Romesh Ranganathan gave up teaching maths at Hazelwick School, Three Bridges, to become a full-time comedian just over a year ago.
The last couple of months have given him a taste for fame.
He’s appeared on BBC’s Sweat the Small Stuff, hosted by radio presenter Nick Grimshaw, and had a weekly TV slot on a Channel 4 panel show Stand up for the Week.
The 35-year-old even fulfilled the life-long dream for many professional comics when he performed on Live at the Apollo in December.
He said: “It’s amazing how these things come out of the blue.
“I was on my way to Busy Bees to collect my son from nursery and I got a phone call asking, ‘Are you up for going on Live at the Apollo?’”
Romesh has written material for TV shows including Mock the Week and John Bishop’s Only Joking.
He will continue to tour the UK with Sean Walsh this year.
