Community coaching
A PRIMARY school received a plaque to celebrate its involvement in a Crawley Town Supporters Alliance (CTSA) community initiative.
Forty youngsters at Broadfield East Primary School have been taking part in one hour sessions with junior Crawley Town coaches for the past term.
The sessions have been paid for by the CTSA to promote the benefit of sport within community.
Colin Lowes, community officer for CTSA, said: “We provide sponsorship for the coaches from the money our members give us - it all goes back into the community.
“We currently sponsor Broadfield East and Bewbush Community School. We would like to extend it to more schools if we can but it is down to funds.”
The CTSA has agreed to sponsor the schools for the next two years. Headteacher Terry Abbott said: “It’s a brilliant all the kids really enjoy the project and are really keen.“They love being involved with Crawley Town and that is where there excitement comes from.”
