Crawley Borough Council is searching for a new operator to handle the running of the Walled Garden, in Tilgate Park.
At a meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday October 9, members agreed to seek expressions of interest for a lease or license of the café for up to seven years.
Cllr Duncan Crow, Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “Tilgate Park is a fantastic place and the council has invested heavily in many areas, including the Walled Garden Café.
“However, running a cafe is not a core council service that we provide to the public, so we’re now asking for expressions of interest from outside organisations to run the cafe on the council’s behalf.
“We are keen to build upon the improvements to the cafe we have made and to further enhance the customer experience. I believe that an outside catering provider with the right expertise would do that.”
