A traditional lion dance and entertainment was put on during the annual event at Mo Lin Restaurant at 7.30pm on Sunday (February 7).

A spokesman said drums were played before the lion stalked a head of lettuce hung on the ceiling.

The lion ate and spat it and a red envelope of money at customers for a good luck blessing.

She said: “As the lion came to interact with the customers. They played and pet the lion and fed it with a red lucky money bag to bring good luck throughout the year.”

The owner said: “The night was excellent, best turnout ever, the whole evening was a brilliant success.”

There were mandarins and acrobatic dance sequences.

Mo Lin started putting on the events in November 2010.
