Councillors on the West Crawley County Local Committee will be asked to consider eight applications for community funding totalling more than £15,000.
During the committee’s next meeting at Crawley Library on March 20, members will consider bids for Community Initiative Funds from bodies as diverse as the Broadfield Youth and Community Centre and the 2nd Ifield (St Margaret’s) Scouts.
Members will also be asked to consider diverting any remaining funds from CIF not allocated for this year to a local foodbank.
Chairman Chris Oxlade said: “The committee is keenly aware that many people are still struggling with the increasing cost of food and are calling on food banks for help, while we all saw for ourselves the damage caused by the floods in Crawley.
“As such we are only too happy to provide any support that we can to both foodbanks and Operation Watershed.”
Members of the public will also be invited to ask questions during an open forum session.
