The awards are being by the Crawley Observer in partnership with Crawley Borough Council at The Hawth.

There have been more than 200 nominations from across the town so far for the 16 categories. There is now more chance to make sure the town’s heroes get recognised in a dedicated ceremony at The Hawth in March.

Group events organiser Pat Slatter said: “In order to ensure that everyone who wants to make a nomination for the Crawley Community Awards can do so, we’ve extended the nomination deadline until Friday February 12.

“More than 200 people have already nominated either online, using the flyers on display in public buildings or using the nomination form in the Crawley Observer.”

People of any age can submit a nomination for any of the categories which include neighbour, local hero, fundraiser and carer - people who may never realise how just being themselves has changed the lives of people they know.

If you know someone who puts themselves out for people, cares for a loved one or goes that extra mile for their community, then make sure they get recognised in March.
