Crawley Library will be closed for a week in October to allow for a review of the layout and an upgrade of the self-service terminals.
When the library opened five years ago no other library in West Sussex had the self service machines and it was only during the final building period that the decision was made to include them at Crawley.
Since the installation of the terminals the technology has moved on and they will be replaced with the upgraded models now installed in all County Council libraries.
The library will therefore close for one week from Monday October 7 to enable the safe removal of the redundant desk, upgrade of the self-service terminals and rearrangement of the stock.
It will reopen on Monday October 14.
