Crawley man arrested over assault



A Crawley man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an assault on a man and woman on Christmas Day.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man, 22, and woman, 19, were attacked in West Street, Burgess Hill, at 7.54pm.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said the man received minor injuries to his head and attended hospital as a precaution. The woman also received a minor injury but was not treated at hospital.

A 21-year-old man from Crawley and an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man both from Burgess Hill were all arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They were questioned and bailed until Sunday February 16.
