A pub golf team raised more than £2,000 for the town’s only special school. Robert Brindley, the landlord of The Swan in West Green, presented a cheque for £2,211.67 to Manor Green Primary School’s headteacher David Reid at the pub on Sunday (May 11).

He said 23 caddies came in fancy dress and raised funds for the pub’s annual charity golf day at Cuckfield Golf Club. He thanked the caddies, the golf club and Kissingate Brewery which contributed a barrel of beer to the cause for ‘making it a great fun day’ and for their fundraising efforts.
