A special school raised £12,000 for a dark room for visually impaired children.
The target was met after Crawley Lions Club (CLC) gave £800 to Manor Green Primary School.
Julie Bagwell, the school’s fundraising co-ordinator, said: “The generous donation of £800 from Crawley Lion’s has now completed our £12,000 target for the dark room.
“The dark room is a sensory room which will be specifically used for pupils who are visually impaired.”
Vice-President Gary Davies said: “We’ve been involved with Manor Green for quite some time and have been so happy to be able to contribute money to their endeavours.
The funding for the dark room was also raised from grant applications and support from parents and carers.
The school, which caters for pupils aged two to 11 , was also raising money for a ‘Red Garden’ to support children on the Autistic Spectrum. The project’s funding target was some £2,000 short from being complete. To support the project, contact Julie Bagwell on 01293 526873 or email email@example.com
