Crawley Town player found guilty of assault

A CRAWLEY Town player has been sentenced after being found guilty of assault.

Midfielder Scott Neilson appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Monday (July 9) where he was given a community order with 100 hours’ unpaid work and was ordered to pay £500 to the victim plus £2,500 costs.

At a trial, which concluded on June 11, Neilson, 25, had been found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was found not guilty of common assault and two counts of racially religious assault.
