A 22-year-old woman from Crawley who was arrested following a death crash has been released without charge.
A man was due to appear in court this morning (Monday September 30) in relation to the fatal collision on Friday night on the A29.
Samuel Kirk, 26 of Billingshurst, has been charged with driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court.
A silver Citroen Xsara was travelling southbound on the A29 at 8.05pm at Codmore Hill when it was in collision with a bicycle.
The 27-year-old woman rider of the bicycle from Kingsfold died from her injuries at the scene.
Police are appealing for further witnesses and are keen to speak to a cyclist who was seen in the area and would have seen the collision.
Sergeant Stewart Goodwin from the road policing team said: “The cyclist we would like to speak to was travelling north on the A29 but we have no further description of them at all. However they are a key witness to what happened and we urge them to get in touch.
“Anyone who has not spoken to us is asked to contact us on 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting Operation Barnward.”
A 17-year-old boy was also released without charge.
