Decorator battles it out in competition

A talented decorator is through to the regional final of a competition to find Britain’s Top Tradesman.

Matthew Lake, 32, from Turners Hill, has seen off competition from 3,000 tradesmen in the contest organised by DIY store Screwfix. He could win a Renault van worth £27,000. Matthew, who trades under the name Lake Bros Ltd, will compete against other finalists from the South East and the East, before going head-to-head for the national title.The heat will take place today (Wednesday October 17).
