Delight as students break world record

CHILDREN helped break a Guinness World Record for the most amount of people singing and signing a song at the same time.

The 383 pupils, from Northgate Primary School on Green Lane, were among 114,227 children and teachers who took part in the record breaking event, organised by SignHealth a healthcare charity for Deaf people.

The school, which raised £131 for the charity, learned and practised the ‘sign2sing’ song before taking part in the record attempt in February.

Steve Powell, Chief Executive at SignHealth, said: “We are delighted to have broken the world record for the second year running and we are going to try and beat it again next year. “
