Deportation protestor arrested after attaching himself to coach

A protestor was arrested after police had to remove him from under a coach this morning (Wednesday October 24).

The 18-year-old man was arrested at The Cedars, the UK Border Agency’s pre-departure accommodation facility in Brighton Road, Pease Pottage, at 3.30am.

Police and fire crews were called after the man attached himself to the coach in an attempt to prevent the deportation of a family at 3.20am.

Protestors started to gather at around 1am and dispersed after the coach left the centre at 6.22am en route for Stansted Airport.
