Drop-in session to answer questions about flyover work
With repair work due to start on the Hazelwick flyover next month, a drop-in sessions will be held to answer people’s questions .
Sixteen weeks’ of work will be carried out on the 40-year-old flyover from February 11, meaning it will be closed to traffic.
To make matters worse for drivers, Hazlewick Roundabout beneath the flyover will be reduced to two lanes to give the work crews enough room to work safely during the closure.
Acknowledging that there would be traffic disruption while the work was carried out, a spokesman for West Sussex County Council said: “Motorists are advised to avoid the Hazlewick roundabout where possible while the work is being done.”
The repairs to the flyover have to be made because parts of the bridge have worn over time and are well past their expected service life of 25 years.
Members of the public who would like to find out more about the work are invited to a public drop-in session in the Park Plaza Room at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Tinsley Lane, RH10 8XH, from 4-7pm on Monday (January 28).
Engineers will be on hand to answer questions.
