Police officers have released an efit of a man suspected of armed robbery in Crawley.

Detectives today (Wednesday, August 20) released the image of the man they want to speak to in connection with the robbery earlier this year.

Shortly before 3pm on Tuesday, May 13, a call was received from a newsagents in Southgate Parade, Crawley, to say they had been robbed.

A man went into the shop, threatened the shop worker with a knife and demanded money.

A quantity of money was handed over.

One shop worker received stab wounds to his hand and bottom as he tried to get the man out of the shop.

He was taken to East Surrey Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Detective Constable Kai Murray said: “The suspect is described as being around 30 years old, just under 6ft, having brown hair and tanned with a scarf round the bottom half of his face which is believed to have slipped during the struggle.

“We believe the suspect left with his hood up in the direction of Collier Row.
