Langley Green Farm held a Mounted Fancy Dress competition

Langley Green Farm hosted a special Christmas mounted fancy dress competition.

Children and horses braved the torrential rain and muddy conditions and rode around the farm’s paddock in festive fancy dress including Santa and elf costumes in front of a judge.

And children had a surprise visit from Father Christmas himself who sloshed through the mud to greet children and hand out presents.

Elaine Hollier, who helped to organise the day, said: “We decided to do it as we thought it would be good fun for the children.

“We had about eight children take part and there was also games and quizzes too.

“We all had a wonderful time, the children all got prizes and we all had a lovely time.”

In first place was Caitlin with pony Missy, second was Tillie with pony Lily and third place went to Daniella with horse Del-Boy.

Elaine added: “Parents also joined in the fun and we held a horse quiz for them. It was a great day. Thank you to everyone who came along.”
