Shopping with mum and dad was given an element of fun thanks to a host of giant games in the town centre.

Human table football, life-size snakes and ladders, a massive draughts board and a giant game of tumbling blocks were set up in Queens Square on Friday and Saturday (May 30/31).

The games were part of a summer programme of events organised by Crawley Borough Council, which include an urban beach and pop-up park, also in Queens Square.

The mayor Cllr Bob Burgess tried his hand at snakes and ladders and football.

After he defeated a team headed by mayoress, Brenda Burgess, at football, he promptly lost to her at snakes and ladders.
