Emergency services were called to Gossops Green after a four-year-old girl was injured in a collision with a car.

The child, who suffered a head injury, was initially taken to Crawley Hospital following the accident at 6.50pm on Sunday (May 11).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A green Lexus was being driven along Avon Walk when a four-year-old girl collided with the side of the car.”

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex air ambulance was called but was not needed and the child was transferred by road to East Surrey Hospital.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “She wasn’t responding normally at first, which was why there were concerns, but was fully conscious at the scene.”
