Government minister visits high-tech Gatwick hotel

A new smartphone controlled hotel at Gatwick has been hailed for its innovation.

BLOC Hotel, at Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal, will open at the end of March. Guests will be able to control every function in their room from their smartphone or tablet. The site was unveiled to Michael Fallon, Government Minister for Business and Innovation, and East Surrey MP Sam Gyimah on Friday (March 14).

Mr Gyimah said: “BLOC Hotels is just the kind of entrepreneurial vision Government policy should support, an innovative concept, harnessing the best of modern technology, to deliver a unique customer experience”,
